Xander's First Birthday

Xander's First Birthday was a blast. Xander was a little careful with the cake at first, but then he finally dug in! He ate til he was almost sick. I can't believe my baby is a year old! Where does the time go? It seems like yesterday I was pregnant.

Xander's Teeth

Now what will Xander want for Christmas? He already has his two front teeth! I read an article today about what changes when you have a baby. Well, it said you are amazed about how much you can say about one tooth! That is so true. I am so excited about everything he does. This is just another of the many things that make me so happy to be a mommy. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Baby Jaws

Xander was obviously a shark for Halloween. Unfortunately because of his teeth (no pun intended) he did not get to go trick or treating. There's always next year. He was so cute though. It took Bobby and I forever to decide on a costume. We picked the perfect one I think.

Granny's glasses

Xander's granny is sweet enough to let him play with her glasses. I must say they are the best glasses ever. They are totally Xander-proof! He sure does love his granny!

Super Baby!

So, as most of you know my hubby is a HUGE superman fan. So, when we got a superman pajama set for Xander I thought Bobby was going to just die! He just couldn't wait until Xander was old enough to wear it. (The smallest size was 18 months) So Bobby had us get pictures of Xander in his new outfit in every possible position. We finally got them all. We just love our Super Baby!

Xander crawls!!!

So, it finally happened! Last Friday when I got home from school, I sat Xander on the table and he just took off! Needless to say, it scared me to death! I grabbed him real quick and now he is EVERYWHERE!!! He ventured down the hallway today, so now I have to keep doors closed! Of course he doesn't want to go into the rooms that have the door open. He wants to go in the FORBIDDEN rooms! Go figure. Now, he is definitely keeping us on his toes. I figure any day now he'll be heading off to college (sniff sniff).

Wanna drink??

Xander is always trying to get to the faucet. Momma tells him no, but Grampa decided to let him haved a drink! It was just too cute to protest too much. I got this picture then quickly said no!

Xander swims!!!

We decided to get Xander a little pool since he loves the water so much. After a couple of times, he has learned to hold his breath while his head is underwater! He puts his own face underwater. He is fearless!!! I am going to really have to watch him when he starts to walk.

We will miss him!

Unfortunately last Monday we lost a great man, Bob King. Bobby and I find it so sad that Xander will grow up without knowing this great man! We are however, so thankful that Bob is now in a better place (much better)! We also vow to explain as best we can what a great man his Grampa was.

Grampa and Xander

Xander may be a daddy's boy, but he is the apple of Grampa's eye. Every chance Grampa gets, he is playing with Xander. You can tell who really has Xander's heart when you see Xander's face when his Grampa walks through the door. He literally lights up! Grampa lets Xander do things that momma never would. Like take things off the top of the refridgerator, or hang upside down, or take the magnets off the fridge. Lots of things, you know, boy things!

The Love of Reading!!

Bobby and I both love reading. We hope to instill that love of reading to Xander. Every night either Bobby or I read a book to him. He usually likes the books that he can touch something in. Like the fur of an animal or the feathers of a bird. When Daddy reads to Xander, Xander pays close attention. When Momma reads, not so much! He looks around at everything but the book! We also think that reading time is a great time to teach Xander about God. As parents, we think this is our greatest responsibility. I try to buy books with Christian themes or bible stories.

Waterbabies!!!!

Xander and I have been doing waterbabies for the past week. We are having a blast!!! Xander has already went underwater! How neat!!! I think he thinks it is a big tub. The temperature is about the same. He also blows bubbles in the water and kicks his feet. It is soooooooo neat!! It is only for a half hour, but it is everyday for 10 days. Daddy came by Wednesday and took these pictures. We so want him to enjoy the water since both Bobby and I are water enthusiasts. Someday I hope he goes scuba diving with us!

Xander is 7 months old

Xander is now 7 months old. My how time flies. He loves to entertain himself. He loves to jump, scoot, roll over, and get into things that he is not supposed too! Already!! He can't quite crawl yet, but that doesn't mean he is not mobile. He can pretty much get to wherever he wants.
